Botox injections for sweating.

Botox injections for sweating. Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) is a disorder that affects the eccrine sweat glands and excessive sweating is manifested. This disease is quite common. Wet or even damp hands make it difficult not only the usual handshake, but also to perform various functions associated with manual labor. Sweating feet, usually accompanied by a fungal disease, causes softening of the constant smell of products of microbial decomposition of perspiration. Sweating is a serious problem in their personal lives. Most hyperhidrosis is ogranichesnny (local) in nature, affecting only the hands or feet, armpits or head, but in rare cases, it applies to all of the area Patients suffering from this disease are often in a matter of minutes can get wet clothes, and therefore it was quickly spoiled and wasted.

Of course, the hyperhidrosis is not life-threatening diseases. However, excessive sweating imposes restrictions on the choice of clothes, affects the communication process. This problem becomes particularly acute during the summer, when the high temperature environment leads to increased perspiration.

There are two groups of sweat glands: eccrine and apocrine. In humans, apocrine glands play a lesser role than the eccrine. Apocrine glands are located in the axillae and perianal area and constitute 10-40% of the regional sweat glands. They are innervated by adrenergic nerve fibers of sympathetic nervous system and contribute to the production of pheromones, not participating in the process of thermoregulation. Eccrine sweat glands ensure the maintenance of normal body temperature in hot weather or increased physical activity. The secret of eccrine sweat glands sweat on the skin surface and evaporation occurs when heat loss to the environment. Until recently, all existing methods of treatment of this disease have provided only temporary relief, or lack of cause unwanted side effects. In recent years, the world most popular method of treating local hyperhidrosis was the introduction of intradermal botulinum toxin. Botulinum toxin can be used as a treatment for all types of local hyperhidrosis. Highly effective and safe drugs for the treatment of local hyperhidrosis (hand, feet, armpits) is a drug that is a complex of botulinum toxin type A and the hemagglutinin. Botulinum toxin binds to nerve endings, sweat glands and blocks the release of neurotransmitter (acetylcholine), thus reducing perspiration. The action of botulinum toxin is a local and reversible.Improvement of symptoms has been observed on the 2nd day after injection with a maximum effect on day 5.  The average duration of effect in the treatment of hyperhidrosis was 11.4 months (on average about 7 months). With the resumption of sweating, most patients seek repeated the procedure, evaluating it as an extremely efficient. Possible side effects are minimal (found in 1-2% of cases): local mikrogematomy and light passing weakness of small muscles of the hand or fingers during the injection of fingers in this area. In patients with axillary hyperhidrosis areas of the side effects are not observed.
